McNally retired from baseball to Billings business

By JAN FALSTAD
Of The Gazette staff

Dave McNally might well be the only Billings native who can claim being featured on the front of The Sporting News in May 1969 and having a successful business career in his hometown.

McNally was born Oct. 31, 1942 and grew up on Elm Street in Billings. His father, James McNally, was a star athlete from Butte who died in World War II. He only saw Dave once when the baby was eight months old.

McNally's mother, Beth McNally, raised her children while working as a welfare worker for Yellowstone County. Beth still lives in Billings. CLICK for the rest of the story!
